7 Seesaw Activities for Kindergarten

Even before the pandemic I loved using seesaw but after distance learning and hybrid learning during the 20-21 school year while teaching kindergarten I love it even more! Seesaw made it so easy for my students to complete activities and stay connected whether we were at home on virtual days, in the classroom, or were quarantined at home! Just getting started with Seesaw? Check out THIS POST. Then come back to find all the great Seesaw Activities for Kindergarten.

In this post I am going to share 7 of my favorite tried and true activities that I used this year in my classroom!

1. Name Activities

Most Kindergarten teachers will tell you that they start the year with name activities whether using Chicka Chicka Boom Boom or Chrysanthemum names are a great way to start in Kindergarten. THIS adorable Name Seesaw activity by Primary Lit is perfect for kindergarten.

2. Alphabet Activities

Introducing a Letter a Week or one every 4 days like I prefer to do to expose students to all of the letters quickly is how most teachers present the alphabet. You can use these Preloaded Seesaw Alphabet activities to practice each letter! All letters included. There are 6 activities for each letter. Get the bundle HERE. Even try the letter A for free HERE.

3. Number Activities

Introducing a number a day or week is often done in Kindergarten similar to the letters. THESE Seesaw Number Activities for Kindergarten from Created by Chelsea are perfect for just that!

4. Phonics Activities

After learning the letters students can begin to put them together to make words. This will help them orthographically map and spell words as well as making them stronger readers. Building words with letter tiles or magnets is great but pieces are often lost or there aren’t enough of them so I created digital word builders that are preloaded to seesaw! Check out the CVC ones HERE. They are perfect for Kindergarten Centers!

5. Math Activities

Once students learn numbers there are plenty more math concepts to work on and if you do Math Rotations which I highly suggest you will also need center activities. THIS BUNDLE from Miss Danielle Murphy is perfect for Kindergarten including preloaded activities and templates to add!

6. Sight Word Activities

Kindergarteners will like practicing their sight words using Seesaw and practice is what helps commit sight words to memory after orthographically mapping them of course! Check out this resource HERE.

7. SEL Daily Check in

Checking in daily with your students is a great way to manage behaviors and build relationships! THIS SEL Daily Check In offers digital and print options including preloaded Seesaw!
